This morning I began writing at 1:28. I’m pushing myself hard during these final pages of the manuscript I’m writing. Today I advanced chapter 10 through page 464. I expect to finish the chapter tomorrow morning in one more page, or two more pages at most. This chapter describes my time at Florence camp, up until the early summer of 2005.
As soon as I finish this chapter, I’ll begin the chapter that describes all of the events during my two years at Lompoc camp. I expect to finish that chapter next week, and then I’ll use chapter 12 to describe the experiences Carole and I have had at Taft Camp.
Once I finish the chapter on Taft Camp, I’ll be in real time, meaning I’ll bring the readers up to the present day. I look forward to writing that chapter, because it concludes the manuscript. To learn the rest of the story, readers will have to wait for my release, and the book I’ll write about what it’s like to return to society after so many decades in prison.
I expect to submit Earning Freedom to my agent in early October. It’s an exciting project, and I look forward to continuing.
I ran 10 miles this morning. My running tally is now 2,334 miles over the past 263 consecutive days.
