The day was overcast with temperatures around 50 degrees at Taft Prison Camp. I woke early as usual. By 4:00 am I was sitting alone in a quiet room to write. In the early morning I wrote my Values and Goals for 2009 blog post in longhand.
By 8:00 am, I was on the track. I ran 10 miles. This was my 20th consecutive day of running, and during that time I’ve logged 182 miles. Since it’s the first day of a new year, I’m beginning a new tally. My goals indicate that I’ll average 50 miles each week. I intend to exceed that goal. Following my exercise, I showered, ate, then came to the library in the afternoon. I wrote letters to four influential citizens with hopes of generating their interest in my work. They lead organizations that I hope will agree to reciprocal links on the PrisonNewsBlog.com site that my wife recently launched for me. During the evening, I wrote my Fourth Quarter Report about my progress towards a successful reentry into society.
