Breakfast:

I finished my run in time to enjoy the breakfast meal again. Ordinarily I run much longer distances and that precludes me from going in for the breakfast meal. On visiting days I run shorter distances. Yesterday and today I had sufficient time to eat breakfast. Both days the meal included bran flakes, but today we also had apple turnovers. I really enjoy this breakfast, but tomorrow I’ll be on the track and miss it.

Lunch:

I was visiting with my wife today during the lunch meal. On Sunday’s it’s brunch. I spoke with my friend JD and he told me the chow hall served scrambled eggs, a sausage patty, potato wedges, and French toast. They also served oatmeal. I’ve had French toast here before and it’s different from what I remember in the world. The toast seems to be deep-fried in batter. I like the taste, but I don’t suppose it’s too good for the arteries.

In the chow hall I ate a lot, but not as much as usual. My wife purchased three chicken and cheese quesadillas that I ate. I also ate a bag of popcorn. It wasn’t as much as I usually eat during visits because the power went out around 1:00 in the afternoon. Without power, of course, neither the microwaves nor the vending machines worked.

Dinner:

I didn’t go to the chow hall for dinner. When I heard the entree was liver and onions, I didn’t have any interest in going. Instead, I ate with some Hawaiian friends. They prepared a large dish of chicken teriyaki with steamed white rice. I was grateful for the invitation because the meal tasted delicious.
