Note: During our visit today, my wife noted that I didn’t eat dinner last night. She mistakenly thought that I wasn’t eating enough food here at Atwater camp. On the contrary. If I were not exercising so much, I certainly would have gained at least 10 pounds since I arrived. I’ve been documenting the menu of the food offered in the chow hall. But that is not all of the food available in prison. Prisoners frequently cook meals for each other from food purchased in the commissary. Last night I ate a chicken dish that was quite tasty.
Breakfast:
This morning I completed my exercise early enough to make it to the chow hall before it stopped serving the breakfast meal. I ate a few scoops of bran cereal with mile. I really like bran cereal, the brand served here is exactly the way I like it, crispy.
Lunch:
I was visiting with my wife during the lunch meal. I heard that the chow hall served sloppy joes. While I was in the visiting room, I ate more than I should have. I always celebrate my visits with Carole by eating a lot of food from the vending machines. Carole bought three chicken quesadillas for me to eat. She bought me an egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit sandwich. She bought me a teriyaki bowl with rice, chicken, and vegetables. I also ate a large chocolate chip cookie and a chocolate brownie. As I said, if I did not exercise so much, I would gain weight here at Atwater.
Dinner:
I ate enough food during my visit with Carole that I didn’t need to eat dinner. That doesn’t mean that I refrained from eating, though. The chow hall served a stir-fry chicken dish, but I didn’t eat that because one of the prisoners in the housing unit cooked nachos. I ate a big bowl of nachos and I look forward to burning off all the calories I ate today with exercise in the early morning.
