Menu at Atwater Federal Prison Camp
Tuesday, 2 November 2011

Breakfast:
I don’t generally go to the breakfast meal because I’m exercising at that time. But I ask others who do eat breakfast in the chow hall about what was served. Today another prisoner told me that he received a scoop of bran cereal; he referred to it as tree-bark cereal because it was so bland.  He also received two pancakes.  I ate a pear before my run, and when I finished I ate an egg sandwich.

Lunch:
The lunch meal on Wednesdays is one of the great consistencies in many federal prisons: hamburgers and french fries.  At Atwater, we also received slices of raw onion and tomato. Condiments were mayonnaise and ketchup, but no mustard.  I haven”t missed a Wednesday lunch since I arrived here.

Dinner:
The dinner meal surprised me, it was a delicious chef’s salad.  I ate four boiled eggs with the salad, and as a side dish, I took a scoop of white rice.

I am pleased with the quality and quantity of food here.
